Privacy Policy

Introduction
Your searches belong to you. Sirch keeps your query history and saved queries on your device, not on our servers — we don't operate any. This policy describes how the app handles your information and the choices available to you.

Information Processed
Sirch processes the following data locally on your device. We cannot access this data.
- Search history: the queries you build and launch, the engine and browser used, and the date launched.
- Saved queries and folders: queries you choose to keep, and the folders you organize them into.
- Your preferences: theme, default engine and browser, and backup settings.
- Premium status: whether you have unlocked premium (managed by Apple or Google).
How We Use Your Information
Core Functionality
- Build, preview, and explain your search queries.
- Store and display your search history and saved queries.
- Persist your engine, browser, and theme preferences across sessions.
Premium Features
- Process the one-time premium purchase through the App Store or Google Play (Apple or Google handles payment).
- Remove the free tier's daily launch limit.
Free-Tier Launch Counter
- The free tier allows three launches per day. To keep this count consistent across reinstalls, an anonymous daily counter is mirrored to iCloud (iOS) or Firebase (Android), keyed by a random device identifier. It contains a number and a date — never query content or personal data.
Crash Reporting
Sirch uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to collect anonymous crash reports. These reports contain technical diagnostics — device model, OS version, and the state of the app when it failed — so we can fix bugs. They do not contain your queries, history, or saved content.
Optional Sync and Backup
- iOS: you can optionally sync your history, saved queries, and folders to your own iCloud account (CloudKit private database). Only you can read this data.
- Android: you can optionally back up to a folder you choose — your cloud provider (Drive, Dropbox) or local storage. The backup file stays under your control.
- Both are opt-out and can be turned off in Settings.
Where Your Queries Go
Sirch never sends your queries to us — there is no Sirch server. When you tap Search, the query opens directly in the search engine and browser you chose. That engine's own privacy policy applies to the search itself, exactly as if you had typed the query into its website.
Data Storage and Security
- All app data is stored locally on your device using an embedded database (SQLite).
- Preferences are persisted on-device using local key-value storage.
- We operate no servers and maintain no external databases of user content.
- Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. The limited disclosures described above — crash reports to Firebase Crashlytics and the anonymous launch counter — exist solely to operate the app.
Platform Services
Sirch integrates with the following platform services, which follow Apple's and Google's own privacy practices:
- StoreKit / Google Play Billing — premium purchase management.
- iCloud (CloudKit) — optional sync on iOS.
- Firebase Crashlytics — anonymous crash reporting.
Your Choices and Controls
- Delete all app data by uninstalling the app.
- Turn off iCloud sync or Android backup at any time.
- Adjust or reset your preferences at any time.
- Manage your purchase through your App Store or Google Play account.
Children's Privacy
Sirch is designed for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent.
Changes to This Policy
We may revise this policy when we add features or when laws change. We will:
- Post the revised policy in the app and on this page.
- Update the date shown at the top.
Review this policy periodically. Continued use of Sirch after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Your Consent
By using Sirch, you agree to this Privacy Policy. You acknowledge that you understand how we handle your data.
